Stevie B. Newton
Ms. Newton graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law & Society and in French. She received her Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2012, and holds a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute.
During law school, Ms. Newton was a member of the Pepperdine Law Review, and worked as a research assistant for several published dissertations addressing international human rights law issues. She studied at the Institut d’études politiques de Grenoble, in France, as well as at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in Costa Rica. In addition to clerking for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, Ms. Newton has served as a judicial extern to Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire of the High Court of Uganda, and to the Honorable Harry Pregerson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Ms. Newton has been a member of the State Bar of California since December 2012. Prior to joining the Bledsoe Law Firm in 2014, Ms. Newton worked for a firm in Oakland, where her practice spanned numerous areas of civil litigation and corporate
