Bledsoe partner Alison M. Crane was honored as one of California ‘s 2011 Attorneys of the Year in a special section by The Recorder¸ Northern California’s preeminent legal newspaper, in their February 20, 2012 special edition.
Crane and her defense co-counsel, Jeffrey Nevin, were recognized for their courtroom work in an explosive Santa Clara County Superior Court trial that ended in April 2011 with a complete defense verdict. The case, which involved an alleged sexual assault, polarized the legal and surrounding communities. Facing years of adverse publicity and entrenched public opinion against the accused, the complete defense verdict in a case many thought was impossible to defend highlights the critical importance of our right to a jury trial.
