L. Jay Pedersen
L. Jay Pedersen was a partner at Bledsoe, Cathcart, Diestel, Pedersen & Treppa LLP for more than twenty years. He passed away on January 16, 2012.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of California , Berkeley , Mr. Pedersen earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of California , Hastings College of the Law. Thereafter, Mr. Pedersen practiced in California state and federal courts where he focused on real estate and business litigation. He was a recognized expert in the representation of landlords in rent-controlled-jurisdiction litigation, including claims for discrimination and retaliation. His general business and tort practice included trademark and copyright infringement issues, all forms of bodily injury claims and employment litigation. Mr. Pedersen was a veteran of numerous jury trials, arbitrations and proceedings before the San Francisco Residential Rent Stabilization and Arbitration Board. His appellate practice included the following published opinions: Meneffe v. Ostawari (1991) 228 Cal.App.3d 239; and 1100 ParkLane Associates v. Feldman (2008) 160 Cal.App.4th 1467. Based on this breadth of experience and expertise, Mr. Pedersen was named a Northern California Super Lawyer from 2005-2008.
Jay will be missed by all who knew him.
